How to find a professional

Finding a Professional

Before you can contact a participating legal professional, you will first need to register on our site. Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit https://www.justicenet.ca/joining-justicenet/, and then click on the “Register Now” link at the bottom of the page, and fill out the registration form. There is a modest client fee of $25+HST, which must be paid on registration. This fee helps to cover the administrative costs of the program.
  2. Search our online directory of professionals (see the home page for the search box). NEW: in Advanced Search, you can now filter by professionals offering services remotely (by telephone or online video conference calling).
  3. In the search results page, you can click on any professional’s name to view their detailed profile page. Once you’ve reviewed different professionals and have found one who matches your needs, you must contact him/her by phone to schedule an appointment (no one will call you).
  4. Please make sure to mention on the phone that you were referred by JusticeNet, to get the reduced fee.

Working with a Professional

It is up to you to contact the professional by phone to schedule an appointment. Since participating professionals usually run a regular practice in addition to the time they devote to this service, and since case commitments may change on short notice, it is at each professional’s discretion whether to accept your case on a reduced fee basis.

Please note that once a case has been concluded, a professional’s acceptance of future cases with the same client is not required to be under the same terms and conditions.
