About Karen
Discussions for parties moving in together or ending a relationship.
Karen provides a space for parties who are moving in together or ending a relationship to discuss decision-making responsibility, including health, education, culture, religion and extra-curricular activities. They may also discuss parenting time, child support and special expenses, spousal support and division of property.
Initially, Karen has a short meeting with one or both parties to discuss the mediation process. Once retained, she has an intake meeting with each client to learn more about them and their background and to discuss any concerns. For financial matters, Karen provides a list of documents for the parties to gather and disclose.
A mediation session is then scheduled, which typically lasts about two hours. Depending on the number of issues to be resolved, there can be more than one mediation session.
